Walk the Line, the Oscar-winning film about the life of the late, great country superstar Johnny Cash has topped the polls and been voted as the best music biopic by more than 2000 film fanatics.
The movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, beat off some tough competition from other major players including Jamie Foxx's "Ray", and the Tina Turner story "What's Love Got To Do With It".
The poll was conducted by LoveFilm - a European equivalent of Quickflix. Lovefilm spokesperson Fliss White said:
"Film and music make a great partnership and have resulted in some of the best acting performances in film.
"This poll showcases the very best the genre has to offer - whether it be a portrayal of a foul-mouthed rapper, a Motown legend or a classical composer."
The top 5 were:
- Walk the Line (Johnny Cash)
- 8 Mile (Eminem)
- Amadeus (Mozart)
- Ray (Ray Charles)
- The Doors (Jim Morrison)
Agree? Disagree? Let us know. Maybe it is worthwhile starting our own poll to see if Australian audiences think any differently...
