I finally watched Hot Fuzz this week. Coming from the team who delivered the hugely successful Shaun Of The Dead (which was one of my favorite movies of 2004). Once again we see ordinary English folk in extra ordinary and deadly circumstances. Hot Fuzz is a satire of the action cop genre the same way Shaun Of The Dead was of the zombie horror genre and once again the results are hilarious. I actually watched Hot Fuzz twice as the first time round I was laughing so hard I missed several gags. Just like in Shaun of The Dead you have to give a little to the actual story as it is a bit of a stretch of the imagination but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a thoroughly entertaining movie, start to finish. A lot of my mates have said Shaun Of the Dead was better and its a heated topic around the Quickflix office but i liked Hot Fuzz more. I dont know why, I think it is because I love all those cheesy action cop movies and seeing the way Hot Fuzz both embraced the genre and took the mickey out of it at the same time made me love it even more.
So Quickflickers, let us know, which did you prefer. Its Hot Fuzz Vs Shaun Of The Dead!

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) coming soon
This for me is the most eagerly awaited spy/action movie of the year. I think of the Bourne series as the thinking mans action flick: The movies are intelligent, mature, and exciting. Shot with multiple camera angles and fresh viewpoints that put you right in amongst the action with every punch, explosion and car crash.
The Bourne Ultimatum has already been served to out friends in America and the reviews have been very encouraging so far, with an average score of 94% being received on Rottentomatoes.
Unfortunately the release date in Australia has been pushed until the 30th August ! So hold tight and get ready for another hit of cinema gold.
