Trailer debut: Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker

source: traileraddict.com

The buzz surrounding Point Break director Kathryn Bigelow‘s upcoming film The Hurt Locker has been deafening. So, we are very pleased to bring you the brand new trailer for her Iraq bomb squad flick.

The film stars Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie as part of an elite army bomb squad that risks their lives in Iraq. The film debuted at the Venice Film Festival in 2008 where it picked up a boatload of awards. Renner and Mackie also scored Independent Spirit Nominations last year.

The latest trailer for the film looks phenomenal – could this be the one film about the Iraq war that is successful at the box office? In fact, forget that. Could this be the one film about the Iraq war that is actually good? Either way, it’s just good to see the underrated Renner and Mackie in leading roles.

Love that final shot.

The Hurt Locker opens in the U.S. this June, with an Australian release to (hopefully) follow.
