The trailer for Steve Antin‘s Burlesque has debuted online, giving us our first glimpse at Christina Aguilera‘s feature film debut.
Aguilera stars as Ali, a small-town girl who heads to L.A. with dreams of becoming a singing superstar. She winds up waitressing at The Burlesque Lounge, and spends her time trying to impress proprietor Tess (Cher) and the stage manager (Stanley Tucci).
Burlesque looks a little like a retread of Glitter, itself a refried version of A Star Is Born (which was itself a remake of the 1954 film of the same name). The trailer certainly plays up the camp; we’ll have to wait and see if it can pull it off a’la Moulin Rouge, or will simply be remembered as the Showgirls of the 21st century.

Burlesque opens December 26, 2010.
Discuss: Can Aguilera successfully crossover from music to acting, or will she pull a Mariah?
