It looks as if the biggest and most important role in The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn has been cast. Mackenzie Foy is set to star as Renesmee Cullen, the ridiculously named child of Edward and Bella in the final instalment of the epic vampire saga.
“Renesmee can survive on either blood or human food, though she prefers blood, and she does not produce venom. Her special abilities are transmitting thoughts to others by touching their skin and penetrating mental shields, the opposite abilities of each of her parents. She rapidly grows both mentally and physically, is able to speak only seven days after her birth, and by the end of the novel can read, run, hunt, and perform other tasks at advanced levels for her young age..She will reach physical maturity after about seven years, when her appearance will be around 17, and then stop aging.”
So, O.K. then. It is unknown if Foy will depict Renesmee at every age, although E.W. implies that director Bill Condon will employ similar techniques as David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Breaking Dawn will be released as two films. Part One will hit cinemas November 18, 2011, while Part Two will arrive November 16, 2012, a mere one month before the end of the world. Coincidence!?
Discuss: There is much about Renesmee that I find ridiculous (including her birth, and relationship to Jacob), but I’ll reserve my criticism until the film comes out. But that doesn’t mean you have to!
