Jason Schwartzman has joined the already stellar cast of Wes Anderson’s upcoming film Moonrise Kingdom (his first live-action project in five years).
We first learned about Wes Anderson’s upcoming flick Moonrise Kingdom back in October of 2010, but all we knew is that it would focus on a boy and girl (both aged 12). The following month, we learnt that actors Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton and Bill Murray were rumoured to star in the 1960s set film about “two young adults who fall in love and run away” (so, we’re guessing they gave up on the search for 12-year-old actors).
The film is about to shoot in Rhode Island, and local casting agency LDI has confirmed the involvement of all the aforementioned stars (as discovered by Rushmore Academy).
We don’t know the nature of new addition Schwartzman’s role. As previously reported by Deadline, Norton will star as a scout leader on the hunt for the two young lovers, Willis as the town sheriff, while McDormand and Murray will play the girl’s parents.
Discuss: Which other Anderson regulars would you like to see join the cast?
