Feig and Firth in talks for remake of France’s Intouchables

Bridesmaids helmer Paul Feig is in talks to write and direct an English-language remake of the French smash hit The Intouchables, Variety reports.

Colin Firth is tipped to star in the pic as a quadriplegic aristocrat who bonds with his carer from across the tracks.

The Weinstein Company, as well as the original’s producer Nicolas Duval-Adassovsky, will work on the film.

The Intouchables, directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, has grossed an amazing $291 million worldwide, making it the second most successful French film of all time.

Discuss: Would you rather see the original first?
