DreamWorks is closing a deal to make the feature adaptation of Electronic Arts’ video game Need for Speed, despite the fact the Fast and the Furious films are basically exactly that.
According to Deadline, DreamWorks are the likeliest studio to produce the project, which was brought to the market last week with Real Steel screenwriter John Gatins attached.
The movie would likely concern a cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. So, maybe it’ll be less like the heist-heavy F&F flicks, and more like Cannonball Run. This is a good thing!
Discuss: Care to see a NFS movie, or should video games be kept on consoles?
