Lore is Aussie Oscar hope in Best Foreign Film category

Cate Shortland‘s Lore has been selected as Australia’s official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 2013 Academy Awards.

Transmission Films made the announcement via their official Facebook page.

Shortland’s follow-up to Somersault concerns a family of Nazis struggling to survive following the fall of Germany to the Allies at the end of WW2.

Lore arrives in Australian cinemas September 20, 2012. Oscar nominees will be revealed early 2013.
