Tom Cruise’s All You Need is Kill renamed Edge of Tomorrow

All You Need is Kill

Tom Cruise’s upcoming sci-fi ‘man-in-a-robot-suit’ film All You Need Is Kill has been renamed, presumably to soften its impact.

According to Cruise’s official website, this big action flick will now be called Edge Of Tomorrow, a much more tasteful (but also bland) title.

Based on a graphic novel, it looks to be a futuristic play on Groundhog Day, wherein a soldier dies while battling an alien, and is doomed to repeat the same day over and over. Except, each time the day replays he better learns how to defeat the invaders.

Directed by Doug Liman – who is as ‘hit and miss’ as directors come – and also starring the lovely Emily Blunt, Edge of Tomorrow arrives in cinemas June 2014.

It may, however, suffer from coming in the wake of District 9 director Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium, another ‘man-in-a-robot-suit’ sci-fi feature coming out this year.
